I am a 25 year old wife and mom of 3, living in the DMV area. My husband Andrew and I have been married for 6 years, but have known each other since elementary school. Our oldest daughter Abby is 4 years old (5 in April), our second daughter Hope would have turned 4 this year in March but passed away due to CHD in 2016 at 11 months old. We are thrilled to share that we are expecting our first son, Andrew Jr. May 2019, with only a few weeks to spare.
My Fitness Beginning
I have was always been the tall and slim girl, all throughout school. Even throughout college and my first two pregnancies I was skinny and did not struggle with my weight. Yet, as the years progressed on my metabolism slowed with age and struggling to cope with our daughters Hope condition the stress added pounds. Looking back at pictures Andrew and I both started gaining more and more. It seems like it happened over night but it was over a series of years; sad enough neither of us really noticed the change in each other. It’s kind of unbelievable when we look through pictures to see how much we have transitioned together over the years in our appearance.
I attribute my weight gain to stress and poor eating habits. My biggest guilty pleasure was in consuming Starbucks Venti Frappuccinos and sodas. I was not the one to eat a-lot but I definitely drank my calories. Nutrition labels? I didn’t read them and really never put much thought into distinguishing the healthy from the un-healthy.
My New Years resolution in 2017 was to commit to exercising. So, of course I joined a gym. Despite my many attempts to workout in the gym– I saw little to no results on the scale and in the mirror. I realize now that at the time, despite my efforts to work out I still had failed to change my habits and still lacked nutrition.
I watched Andrew commit to a healthy lifestyle as his New Years resolution in 2017 and he committed and stuck to his plan. I have never seen someone so dedicated and invested in their own personal results. He started out at 275 lbs and today he currently has surpassed his goal weight, weighing in at 135 lbs. There was not one day he cheated and went off course during his fitness journey. He changed his eating habits and incorporated balanced nutrition into his diet and exercise. He is my inspiration and he encouraged me to stop procrastinating– stop talking about results and put a plan into action in order to achieve the results that I want.
Through his motivation I have changed my lifestyle and have had a successful pregnancy, supported by incorporating balanced nutrition into my daily diet.
Fitness, Health, Wellness & Social Media
As my following began to grow on Instagram I converted my personal account to a fitness account. It really means a lot to me that I can share my fitness journey with others and inspire them as others have inspired me. Andrew encouraged me to continue offering support and inspiration to others but to expand and create my own personal blog in order to reach more people and document my journey along the way. I give all credit to him for motivating me to take a leap out on faith to create my own personal blog in order to share my day to day with you all.
With each post you will learn a little more and more about me as I take you along on my fitness journey, helping you along the way with your own personal health and wellness goals. As a Health and Wellness Coach I am here to guide and offer you support in every way possible to help you obtain the goals you have set out to achieve.
I encourage you to follow me on social media, follow my blog and sign up for email updates in order to stay connected. We are on this journey together!
